Four New Members Join TLC Board in July;

Neely Steps up to Presidency

Adam Abram, Wade Barber, Charlie Bolton and Laura Horton Virkler joined the TLC Board in July after balloting by TLC members throughout June. Becky Bumgardner and Ron Strom were elected for second terms. Three other board members who filled vacant seats since the last election—William Brian Jr., Steve Levitas and John McArthur—were approved by members for the first time.

After serving for the past year as vice president, Chuck Neely of Raleigh was elected to replace John McAdams as president. Other officers elected were Ron Strom as vice president, Robert Naylor as treasurer and Anne Stoddard as secretary.

This year’s balloting by mail and at the June 28 Member Gathering produced the highest voter turn-out in TLC history, with 232 member households casting votes. Both the slate of board nominees and the slate of officer nominees were approved with overwhelming majorities; officers by a vote of 229 to 3, board members by 226 to 6.

Many thanks for their thoughtful, energetic, long-term service to Jonathan Howes, Lovick Miller, Al Purrington and Vicky Will, who leave the TLC Board after reaching their term limits. We look forward to continuing to work with them in other capacities in the coming years.
