TLC President's MessageTime to CelebrateFebruary 2008 2008 will be a special year for Triangle Land Conservancy for three exciting reasons. First, TLC began the year with more than 10,000 acres permanently conserved! 2007 was our best year ever when it comes to completion of conservation projects. Your generous support enabled us to close 18 projects that protected 1,350 acres critical to water quality, wildlife habitat, farming and forestry, hiking and historic preservation. Read more about these projects by visiting the News and Events page. Surpassing the 10,000-acre milestone could not have come at a better time because it starts TLC's 25th year in conservation with a bang. In 1983 a group of visionary individuals created this citizen-led conservation organization. What began around a kitchen table has reached extraordinary heights, and the success we have today is due to the passion, intelligence and generosity of those who came before us. As with any anniversary, TLC plans to celebrate. Every month in 2008 will bring an incredible hike or outing, and we invite y’all to participate. To see what’s in store, click here. Celebrating 25 years of conservation is just part of TLC’s anniversary year, which brings me to the third reason why 2008 will be special. In February, we plan to announce an exciting new campaign for TLC—an initiative that will increase the pace of local conservation as we race against time to permanently conserve those green spaces that make our communities great places to live and work. Stay tuned, and thank you for your commitment to Triangle Land Conservancy. Kevin Brice, President and CEO, Triangle Land Conservancy
