Possible Internship Objectives

  • Research corporations and foundations in an effort to find new sources of funding for TLC
  • Write grant proposals and progress reports to corporations and foundations

Possible Responsibilities

  • Use Internet resources to conduct research on corporations and foundations in an effort to build TLC’s corporate and foundation programs
  • With the Director of Development’s guidance, write grant proposals to corporations and foundations, track results and complete progress reports for grants received
  • Help plan and work special events, including researching possible venues, caterers and entertainment; recruit sponsorships; address and mail invitations; work the event and recruit other volunteers to work the event
  • Help with mass mailings
  • Research best practices related to membership and fundraising as directed by staff

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Familiarity with Internet search engines

Academic Qualifications

All undergraduates are welcome to apply.

Hours per Week 10-20
Location TLC Office in Raleigh, or remote location
Financial Assistance Unfunded
Application Deadlines Internships are available during fall and spring semesters, and during the summer months. Please apply by December 1 for a spring internship, April 1 for a summer internship, and July 1 for a fall internship.
