Main Responsibilities

  • Land assessment and conservation
  • Landowner contact
  • Structuring partnerships for funding and long-term stewardship
  • Heading up major acquisition activities in TLC’s Little River priority area as part of the Upper Neuse Clean Water Initiative (UNCWI)
  • Assist in developing and implementing conservation strategies
  • Manage TLC’s Geographic Information System (GIS)

Background

I received a bachelors degree in Biology from UNC-Chapel Hill in 1993, and a double masters in Forest Management and Environmental Management in 2000 from Duke University’s Nicholas School of the Environment. I have held a variety of contract and full-time positions with such organizations as Duke Forest Teaching and Research Laboratory, Sandhills Area Land Trust, N.C. Coastal Land Trust and The Nature Conservancy.
