Member Spotlight - December 2007

Amy Mackintosh & Tom Kagan

The lives of Amy Mackintosh and Tom Kagan have been entwined with TLC since their friend Julie Moore introduced them to the organization when they arrived in Raleigh in 1989.

Soon Amy was designing and building the Swift Creek Bluffs trails. Then she took the lead on managing Reid Garden for TLC, which drew her parents to Raleigh when they bought the property.

Still living in Raleigh and now parents of two teenage daughters, Lucy  and Triona, Amy and Tom are both landscape architects by training. Amy remains in the profession with Little & Little Landscape Architects.

Tom took a different path, now building and repairing violins and mandolins. He also plays fiddle in a traditional Irish music band, Friendly Fiddlers.
