TLC's Criteria for Choosing Projects
TLC's top priorities for land acquisition will meet at least
one of the following standards:
- Top Priority Sites
TLC will consider raising funds to cover all or part of the
acquisition and stewardship costs to protect tracts that are:
- Located on one of TLC's priority stream corridors
- A natural heritage inventory site as designated by the
NC Natural
Heritage Program;
- Adjacent to or part of a property protected as open
space by TLC, government agency, academic institution, or
another land trust; or
- 100 acres or more in size.
Secondary Sites
TLC will accept donations of other tracts that meet the
Land Acquisition Criteria (adopted by the TLC Board 4/25/96)
if the landowner covers all associated acquisition and stewardship
costs.
