Natural Heritage Inventories
A Natural Heritage Inventory is an ecological "census" of significant natural
areas, natural communities, and wildlife species. These inventories provide TLC and its
partners with the most basic and critical data on rare species, biodiversity, and wildlife
habitat. With funding from local governments and the North
Carolina Natural Heritage Trust Fund, TLC has conducted Natural Heritage Inventories
in each of the counties in its service area: Chatham, Durham, Johnston, Lee, Orange, and Wake. Click on the county names to view more information
