| Description |
Located along Moccasin Creek at the Johnston-Nash County
line, Flower Hill is a unique system of north-facing bluffs supporting a large stand of
Catawba rhododendron and a great diversity of other wildflowers. Flower Hill is believed
to be North Carolina's easternmost naturally occurring stand of Catawba rhododendron,
growing far from its normal mountain range. Heavily visited the first two weekends in May;
TLC traditionally leads a hike the weekend before Mother's Day. |
