Description	Steep north-facing bluffs on Poplar Creek one mile upstream from confluence with Neuse River support a large stand of mountain laurel and abundant galax, both of which are uncommon in this region. Large hardwoods, including beech, white oak, post oak, sweet gum, northern red oak and red maple indicate the area has not been cut for 50-100 years.
